Today’s call started out with Dr. Karen noticed that a lot of folks are exhibiting “sick” symptoms with the change in season. Dr. Dennis recommended the five elements acupuncture points strategy to support the energy in all the elements and their associated meridians, for well-being.
Supporting Balance & COMFORT: TCM-INSPIRED PATCH STRATEGIES
In this session, we explored how to support the body using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles alongside LifeWave patches.
Rather than focusing on symptoms, we look at patterns of imbalance—such as damp heat, internal wind, or qi stagnation—and work to restore harmony through acupoint support and energetic balance.
Below is a summary of key patterns and strategies shared during the training.
Reminder: No claims to treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate disease are made. Patches discussed work through phototherapy to support the body’s natural systems.
Supporting Eye & Comfort Balance
A pattern consistent with damp heat in the eye region was discussed. In TCM, the eyes are closely connected to the Liver and Gallbladder meridians (wood element).
Suggested Strategies
- Distal Support Points
- Gallbladder 37 (GB37) — above the outer ankle
-
- Options:
- X39 on the right
- X39 (left) + X49 (right) as a yin/yang pairing
- X39 on Liver 3 (left) + X49 on GB37 (right)
- Options:
- Local Support
- Carnosine on the “third eye” (center of the forehead) to support overall wellness in the area
- IceWave on the temples (white right / tan left) as part of a relaxation-focused routine
- Balancing Approach (Damp Heat)
- Stomach 44 → IceWave white (right)
- Spleen 9 → IceWave tan (left)
- Optional Add-Ons
- Layering (stacking) patches such as Carnosine with IceWave
- Using an eye mask with patches (based on personal comfort)
- Additional Support
- Hypochlorous acid (when available) for gentle cleansing support
Supporting Balance DURING HEAVINESS & RESTLESSNESS
This presentation was associated with excess yin (heaviness) and internal wind (restlessness/itching sensations).
Suggested Strategies
- For Overall Balance & Clarity
- Aeon at Governing Vessel 20 (top of the head)
- Optional:
- Create a diamond pattern using:
- IceWave
- Energy Enhancer
- Any yin/yang pairing
Avoid if there is significant head sensitivity.
- Create a diamond pattern using:
- For Wind Patterns
- Gallbladder 3
- Liver 3
- Gallbladder 20
- Governing Vessel 16
- Use available patches in a yin/yang pairing.
Supporting Balance for back & scalp sensations
This pattern may reflect internal wind and uneven qi distribution.
Suggested Strategies
- Gallbladder 20 for head-related patterns
- Governing Vessel 4 (Life Gate) to support downward energetic flow
- Application Tip:
- Use more yang-oriented patches above and yin-oriented patches below to encourage balance.
- Example:
- Aeon (right) + Carnosine (left) at upper points
- X39 at Life Gate
- This creates a “sky–earth” dynamic to guide energy flow.
Supporting COMFORT & FLEXIBILITY IN THE HANDS
This presentation relates to sinew and fascia balance (wood element) in TCM.
Suggested Strategies
- Local Support
- IceWave over areas of focus as part of your wellness routine
- Distal Point
- Gallbladder 34 (traditionally associated with sinews)
- Wellness Support Combination
- Carnosine
- X39
- X49
- Additional Techniques
- Gentle manual therapy or compression
- “Back-hit pillow” (patches placed in a pillow format)
- Movement practices to support circulation and flow
