Yin/Yang Patch Pair
Please note that when we mention the Yin/Yang patch pair, this means a pairing of two patches whereby the one on the left is relatively yin compared to the patch on the right.
Examples of Yin/Yang phototherapy patching pairs are:
- Energy Enhancer: The Tan patch is yin, the White patch is yang
- IceWave: The Tan patch is yin, the White patch is yang
- SP6C + Aeon: SP6C on the left (yin), Aeon on the right (yang)
- X39 + X49: X39 on the left (yin), X49 on the right (yang)
Yin/Yang meridians pair also refers to patching a Yin acupuncture point on the left side of the body and a Yang acupuncture point on the right side belonging to the same element.
Examples of Yin/Yang element pairings:
- Earth: Spleen/Stomach
- Metal: Lung/Large Intestine
- Water: Kidney/Bladder
- Wood: Liver/Gallbladder
Fire: Pericardium/Triple Burner (more emotional) or Heart/Small Intestine (more physical)
Topics Discussed
Introductions and AccuPoint Reference Chart @ 0:00
Dr. Karen Kan and Dr. Dennis introduce themselves and the group. They announce the completion of the AcuPoint Reference Chart, a comprehensive guide to LifeWave patch application points, and explain its purpose and features.
Dr. Dennis’ Heart Attack Experience @ 1:24
Dr. Dennis shares his recent experience of having a heart attack and how using LifeWave patches helped him recover his energy and strength during his hospital stay.
Healing Crises and the Body’s Wisdom @ 2:27
Dr. Karen discusses the German New Medicine perspective that views heart attacks as part of the body’s healing process, not just a disease. She explains how rapid healing can sometimes lead to a “healing crisis” that the body needs to work through.
Advanced Brain Balancing Protocol @ 10:19
Dr. Karen and Dr. Dennis provide details on the Advanced Brain Balancing Strategy, including specific patch application points and sequences to support brain and nervous system health.
Supporting Wound Healing and Nerve Regeneration @ 24:51
A participant shares a friend’s case with a deep, slow-healing wound in the foot. Dr. Karen and Dr. Dennis recommend using the supportive energies of X39, carnosine, and ice wave patches and considering supplements like lion’s mane to support nerve regeneration.
Balancing Thyroid Function @ 37:40
A participant asks about supporting healthy thyroid function. Dr. Karen and Dr. Dennis suggest using points like stomach 9, the third eye, and Triple Burner 17 with various LifeWave patches to help regulate the endocrine system.
Strengthening Connective Tissue and Preventing Hernias @ 1:17:07
Participants ask about supporting connective tissue in the groin area to address age-related weakening in the groin area. Dr. Dennis recommends using X49 on the right and X39 on the left at the stomach 30 point near the groin area.
Recap and Closing @ 1:32:55
Dr. Dennis invites participants to the HealthWise Clinic, a monthly event, and the meeting concludes with gratitude and well-wishes. They are restarting these clinics as of September 2024. In the meantime, people are invited to email Nurse Heidi HeidiLobsteinNurse@gmail.com if they would like to get on the mailing list.
Q&A Callers
Wayne H.
Q: How can we support brain recovery for someone who experienced trauma and a coma, is currently at home under the care of their niece, and has been using patches for about 4 weeks?
A: Dr. Dennis: Once you complete the Advanced Brain Balancing Strategy, reset the Yin through Kidney 9. It’s like degaussing “static,” and it resets the energy pattern. Kidney energy is responsible for the “marrow,” which includes the brain and spinal cord. This will help reset the entire nervous system. You can use X39 on the K9 left and X49 on the K9 right or any Yin/Yang patch pairing (see above).
Note: Has been doing Advanced Brain Balancing strategy for four weeks.

Q: How can you support an appropriate fasting blood sugar level, given regular use of X39/49, SP6, and Aeon patches, intermittent fasting, clean eating without seed oils and low sugar, and testing fasting glucose 2-3 times daily while managing corporate job stress?
A: Dr. Karen pointed out that blood sugar “normal” varies based on the lab and can be somewhat arbitrary. She recommends using Aeon daily for 12 hours.
- Stomach 21 bilaterally can help support the middle jiao.
- Stomach 36 also helps blood sugar – the master point for the abdomen and the Earth energy – which includes the Spleen organ.
- The Five Elements Strategy can support the body’s energy. Energy Enhancer patches can help you relax and balance your body’s meridians.

Q: How can a 64-year-old with a 15-year brain-nerve disconnection issue and a small, deep, two-month-old wound, cleaned twice by doctors and regularly debrided, manage severe pain and improve sleep while following wound healing protocols and receiving nutritional support?
- The body is not connecting to the brain, a Sky Window point. This may be an issue with the blocked acupuncture point, Large Intestine 18. You may use any Yin/Yang pairing (see section above) and add these points to connect the brain to the body.
- Using Carnosine, X39 (both are great for nerves in addition to wound healing), and IceWave can be helpful. Get her out of pain so she is more likely to stay consistent. Getting enough protein is essential.
- With IceWave use whatever points work to release the pain at least 50% lower.
- Dr. Dennis said you can use Lion’s Mane tincture underneath the patch (for its frequency) to help the nervous system heal faster.
Pat C.
Q: How can someone with an underactive thyroid support their thyroid naturally, given they’ve been on a whole food, plant-based diet for two years, are active, and have successfully stopped taking Lipitor and one blood pressure medication with normal cholesterol levels?
A: Dr. Karen recommends this Micro-Training Thyroid Support video.
- Kidney points, in general, can help regulate the endocrine system.
- Stomach 9 on either side of the thyroid on the neck. Use Energy Enhancers or IceWave.
- In the five-element rotation, you can use Stomach 9 points in between the other elemental points for the week (replacing Spleen 6 and Stomach 36 points)
- Endocrine support – Alavida on the third eye (usually at night) as it is connected to the pineal gland point. This acupuncture point positively affects the entire system.
- Triple Burner 17 behind the ear lobe on the mastoid – activates many points on the back of the ear that connect with hormones. Example Aeon right, Sp6C on the left (both support hormones), or any Yin Yang patch pairing (see above)

Q: What can support self-healing and strengthen tissue for an elderly male with recent tissue extrusion in the groin, hearing loss, weird sounds in the ear, abnormal breathing, and who is off statins, using Silent Nights on Liver 3 weekly, with possible other complications?
- The brain balancing strategy, with sufficient minerals and hydration, may help reset the autonomic nervous system and helping the body self-heal easier (and will encourage more effective response patching)
- Weakening connective tissue in the groin area could be due to hormonal lowering with “age.” Dr. Dennis used X39/49 on Stomach 30 to support the groin area.
- To strengthen connective tissue, it would be ideal to proliferate healthy active stem cells. Having enough high-quality protein is important for the body to rebuild itself.
- Supplement Your Prescription Book might be helpful.
- Drugs can cause liver qi stagnation.
- Chong Mai points out that Spleen 4 on the foot and Pericardium 6 can help tonify the Qi in the Chong channel that goes to the reproductive organs.

Q: What is the best placement for X39 patches to address weak or non-functioning left leg, hand, and fingers, along with impaired cognitive function due to right brain involvement?
- Consider X39/49 and Carnosine for anything brain/nervous system related
- Consider completing the Advanced Brain Balancing Strategy
Shar
Q: How can someone who falls when walking, shuffles requiring a walker, has violent tremors, low-volume stilted speech, and brain fog be supported?
- Energetically, it is an imbalance of wind element. Try using Liver 3 and Gallbladder 41 as a yin/yang acupuncture point pairing in the Wood element.
- The Governing Vessel 16, which is the back of the head, can also cut excess wind. Aeon would be a good choice in this circumstance.
- Gallbladder 20 on either side of the head is also excellent in relieving excess wind energy. You can use IceWave, Energy Enhancers, or any yin/yang patch pairing (see section above for more on this) on this point.
