However, for either low or high functioning thyroid, you can use a Y-Age Aeon on Shanglianquan (upper Spring of integrity) which is a point just above the hyoid bone and optionally a negatively charged patch such as SP6C or TAN patch on CV22 (at the sternal notch) or CV 19 (over thymus gland) in the center line. Using the combination of Aeon and SP6C helps with hormonal support more than another Y-Age patch and tan patch.

Y-Age Aeon patch on right ST9 and SP6C patch on left ST9 is another good position for these hormonal balancing and thyroid specific support.

Aeon on right and SP6C on left Triple Burner 17 helps helps with fluid flow including the flow of the hormones.  The patch is close enough to activate all the wonderful hormonal balancing ear points on the back of the ear.  You can also use WHITE energy enhancer patches on right and TAN on left.  Also IceWave can be used as an optional.

YANG is deficient in low functioning thyroid according to classic Chinese medicine.  CV4, GV 4  and BL 23 helps to support YANG. In too high functioning thyroid, there is often excess liver fire and excess dampness – too much YANG relative to the YIN. In the latter the Yang is unanchored by the Yin.  Spleen 6 is the best point to tonify YIN and make it stronger.  Liver 3 would be good to disperse stagnant liver Qi.  Kidney 3 can be used in both too high and too low thyroid function.

Thyroid function is affected by low minerals especially iodine.  Toxins in our environment can knock iodine off its receptor such as bromide (occurs in production of foods such as flower) and fluoride (fluoridation of water, toothpaste).  It is important to have enough natural iodine in the diet such as fish and seaweed such as kelp.

If you have a painful thyroid, you may wish to use IceWave.  Options include bracketing the thyroid with IceWave at ST9 (WHITE on RIGHT) or using an advanced double patching protocol with WHITE/Y-Age Aeon on ShangLianQuan and the TAN/SP6C patch in CV22 (sternal notch).
