IceWave Clinical Research Study Published!
LifeWave is proud to announce that an IceWave study was recently published in the well-respected and peer-reviewed TANG International Journal of Genuine Traditional Medicine, Issue 1, 2013.
The study published concerns LifeWave’s IceWave patches. The hypothesis of the study was that “application of IceWave patches on the skin will reduce one’s perception of pain.” Led by investigators Karen Jones and Dr. Rupesh Dharia, the study performed was an open label, pretest-posttest study using subjects as their own controls. A sample of 16 male and 24 female subjects between the ages of 30 – 84 years of age were selected from two different sites, including a physician’s outpatient clinic and an assistive living facility. The subjects who participated in the study were seeking neuromuscular pain management. Their experienced pain levels varied between chronic and acute pain. The Independent Investigational Review Board, Inc. of Plantation, Florida, approved the research protocol and informed consent was obtained. Thomas Burke, Independent LifeWave distributor and member of the Patch Training Team coordinated the study. Congratulations Thomas!
Following repeated application of IceWave patches to the painful areas, data showed that subjects wearing IceWave patches experienced a highly significant reduction in perception of pain intensity compared to baseline (wearing no patches). Based on the effect size for reduction of pain, number of subjects, and level of significance for this study, the statistical power for each test at all of the time points was found to be 100%! That means that every single person tested reported a reduction in pain! It should be noted that everyone involved in this study were on heavy duty pain medications that were not helping to reduce their pain levels, but all participants were helped with IceWave!
This study reveals the potential of IceWave patches to provide sustainable non-drug management of pain. As we all know, alternative treatments are increasing in popularity due to the drug toxicities and negative consequences of some pharmaceuticals. IceWave patches can be used to create multiple circuits on the skin to address numerous areas of pain. This clinical study adds value to the literature on pain management, providing another option for non-invasive pain management. It offers people with acute and chronic neuromuscular pain a complementary alternative to pain management with drugs and without any adverse side effects!
