Q&A Submissions

Q: I would like a patch recommendation for recurring hot flashes and breast tenderness at age 67, despite using X39, X49, Aeon, Glutathione, Energy Enhancer, Alavida, and Carnosine, while managing high stress, staying hydrated, and working with a naturopath—what would you suggest?
A: Aeon may be helpful placed behind the right ear on the mastoid bone near Triple Burner 17, and SP6 Complete on the left Spleen 6 acupuncture point. Consider using Aeon at night to help encourage a sense of calm during periods of elevated stress.
For stress management, she’s napping during the day, walking in the forest, and has a strong pet connection. She is also seeing a BodyTalk practitioner.
For sore nipples, consider supporting the Stomach meridian. The Stomach channel can be associated with this symptom, and Energy Enhancer patches may be used in the Five Elements Rotation. To support the Spleen/Stomach (EARTH) element, consider applying it twice as often within the rotation.
Energy Enhancer can also help promote relaxation.
Dr. Karen advised possibly decreasing the frequency of Glutathione, as detoxifying too heavily may itself become a form of physiological stress.

Q: I would like a patch recommendation for postmenopausal heat intolerance, headaches, and dizziness related to lifelong internal heat patterns, despite improvements from using X39 and other patches over the past 3 years—what would you suggest?
A: All the Yang channels cross at Governing Vessel 14 (GV14), where she is currently using X39—no wonder it’s helping. This point is known to release excess heat.
To support clearing heat, consider applying Stomach 44 (located on the tops of the feet) using two negatively charged patches—such as SP6 Complete or the tan Energy Enhancer patches—alongside the X39/X49 combination, with one patch placed at GV14 on the back of the neck. This creates a powerful triangular.
During the winter, while not exposed to outdoor heat, it may be helpful to alternate with the Five Elements rotation. This seasonal approach may support more balanced energy going into spring.
For itching when using the vibration plate, Christine recommended warming the body and hydrating with sea salt water beforehand—a tip shared in the chiropractic clinic where she previously worked. Dr. Dennis explained this reaction as a manifestation of excess Wind.
To support these symptoms, place Energy Enhancer patches on Gallbladder 31. An alternate approach would be to apply Energy Enhancer in a cross-pattern: Liver 3 on the left and Gallbladder 31 on the right, as part of the Five Elements Rotation.

Q: What is Dr. Dennis using to support such glowing, healthy skin—and could it also be contributing to the darker hairs in his beard?
A: Dr. Dennis Lobstein has used all LifeWave patches for over 20 years and maintains a lifestyle that supports wellness and balance.
His daily routine includes:
- Qigong practice
- Healthy eating with minimal toxin exposure
- Regular hikes in the forest, surrounded by nature
- Connection with the natural world—he even refers to the rocks as his “rock people” friends
- A mindset rooted in positivity, prayer, meditation, and an awareness of zero-point energy

Q: Are the patches still effective for someone with a higher body fat percentage, such as individuals who are overweight or obese?
A: Yes, the patches remain effective regardless of body composition. Phototherapy can function through clothing, casts, and even materials like wood up to six inches thick. According to LifeWave:
“Our patches are designed to trap this infrared energy when placed on the body, which causes them to reflect it back to stimulate specific points on the skin that can promote a general state of health and healthy activity…”
“Each patch is exclusively designed to reflect particular wavelengths of energy that stimulate specific points on the skin… No drugs or chemicals enter your body.”
Additionally, acupuncture points naturally have lower electrical resistance, so applying patches to those points may enhance their effectiveness.

Q: I would like a patch recommendation for ongoing shoulder discomfort, along with general skin irritation and signs of inflammation. What strategy would you suggest?
A: Discomfort in the body is often the result of blockages in the flow of Qi, and unresolved or pathological inflammation may contribute to these blockages.
Stomach 38 is a useful point for addressing shoulder discomfort. A Yin/Yang patch combination—such as X39 and X49, can be used along with IceWave for local support. On the front of the shoulder, Jianqian (if sore) is a good point to patch. On the back, Small Intestine 11, located in the center of the scapula, is another effective point.
Begin by applying IceWave with the tan patch on the front (e.g., Jianqian) and the white patch on the back (e.g., Small Intestine 11). If this setup increases discomfort, simply reverse the patch colors. You can use tape to temporarily test placement before removing the adhesive backing to finalize position.
Adding Aeon on a Brain Balancing Strategy point, behind the right ear on the back of the neck, or near the thyroid, may also provide additional support.
Yin/Yang Patch Pair
Please note that when we mention the Yin-Yang patch pair, we mean a pairing of two patches, whereby the one on the left is relatively yin compared to the patch on the right.
Examples of Yin/Yang phototherapy patching pairs are:
- Energy Enhancer: The Tan patch is yin, the White patch is yang
- IceWave: The Tan patch is yin, the White patch is yang
- SP6C + Aeon: SP6C on the left (yin), Aeon on the right (yang)
- Carnosine + Glutathione: Carnosine on the left (relatively yin), and Glutathione (yang) on the right
- X39 + X49: X39 on the left (yin), X49 on the right (yang)
Yin/Yang meridians pair also refers to patching a Yin acupuncture point on the left side of the body and a Yang acupuncture point on the right side, belonging to the same element.
Examples of Yin/Yang element pairings:
- Fire: Pericardium/Triple Burner (more emotional) or Heart/Small Intestine (more physical)
- Earth: Spleen/Stomach
- Metal: Lung/Large Intestine
- Water: Kidney/Bladder
- Wood: Liver/Gallbladder
